About Me

Hi Everyone! Im Melissa! Im a 34ish mom of 3 crazy kids. My huband and I met 16 years ago and have been married almost 15 years. Long story short.. we met after high school, joined the army, lived overseas, deployed to Afghanistan, came back to Ft. Hood then got out and moved to our current small town in East Texas. I eventually decided to do a career change from Logistics to Cosmetology and Attended Aveda in 2012. I decided to go out on my own and I opened my own salon studio called Southern Roots in 2017. I LOVE IT!! My husband is now a Cop in our town and he is happy as well. We purchased our first home 5 years ago CASH. YAY! But, it was a HUUUUGEEE project (Before and after pictures are on here).  We finally finished it and found the house of our dreams and are currently waiting to close on both. ( Another huge project!) I founded Love, Grace & Gardenias with a mission to give others a taste of what goes on in my mind and in our lives, and I have been at it ever since.
